Popular phone maker Apple has been awarded the top global brand by brand consulting and corporate identity firm Interbrand.
The iPhone maker has pipped beverage giant Coca Cola, to emerge as the top brand in the world. It is important to note that Coca Cola has held the number one position for thirteen years in a row.
Apple’s rise in the list has been steady, from being 8th in 2011 to second last year and finally the leader in this year’s edition. Apple’s net worth has improved 28% from last year to $98.3 billion. Interbrand, in its report has mentioned the fact that Apple has enabled so many people to do so many things with such ease and this is what has made it the company that it is today. This has been proved by the mega launch response to its new offerings the 5C and 5S i Phones.
This year’s list has a plethora of tech giants in the top 10 with Google following second and Microsoft, Samsung and Intel featuring in the top ten.
