Here’s news that proves yet again how technological development can benefit the needy and the deprived of the society. Recent news is that the Executive Yuan has lately declared that the Ministry of Health and Welfare will take the help of cloud computing system that make easier for public health centers and bureaus of almost 48 towns and other offshore islands to get all case reports and use them whenever necessary. This system, hopefully will offer its support to an endless number of hospitals and clinics before the end of 2015.
Executive Yuan’s population counting clearly reports that in the remote areas of Taiwan more than 365,000 people are living and they have taken up more than 1.6 percent of the whole population. Apart from this the population of people is also quite large in places that are located in the mountains and offshore islands. Statistics have shown that due to all the geographical disadvantages it often so happens that patients who are in a terrible medical condition can’t reach proper hospitals which are far away from where they live. The trips that they would have to make in order to reach these hospitals are not only very expensive but the patients most of the times cannot even reach the hospital in time to have their lives saved. It’s all pretty hard on the families.
This collaboration that the Executive Yuan’s Board of Science and Technology has made with MHW ensures that this cloud computing system will be successfully made by the end of 2013 and will be ready to be used by doctors and medical establishments. Even it will have a simple interface and will be easy to use hence people living in the village will be able to use it easily.
