According to recently released updates now Blackberry has enabled the facility to install android apps on Blackberry phones. Therefore, to those who are still unaware about this update, here is a brief explanation for installing .apk apps in Blackberry phones. Following are simple steps for same:
1.) Get an .apk file of your app to your phone: - Find .apk file (installable file for android) of your app on internet and ensure this is same what you were looking for.
2.) Get this file to your Blackberry device: - Now either download this file to your device directly or get it via USB after downloading on your PC.
3.) Install the app to your phone: - If you have downloaded the app on device itself then it will ask for installation after completing the download else you have received it via USB then Find it under File Manager >> Downloads. Ensure that file is in .apk format otherwise it won’t get installed.
4.) Run the app: - After successful installation run the app on device.
Although Blackberry has released this revolutionary step to ease its customers but still OS of blackberry is not android. Like, certain apps need Google play services which are not compatible with BB. That’s why you can feel some difference between working of those apps on both the systems. Yet this is great news for BB users to enjoy android apps on their existing Blackberry phones isn’t it?
