If you do not have a DVD writer attached with your computer/laptop, installing Windows 8 can be a trouble for you. But the good news is it is quite much possible through a USB drive. Here are the steps of installing Windows 8 using a USB device:
Requirements: a USB pen drive (4 GB or more), Windows 8 Consumer Preview Disk Image File, Microsoft Windows 7 USB tool
1. Install and run Microsoft’s Windows 7 USB tool. Then select the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 disk image file and hit next.
2. Plug in your USB stick and run it as your media type.
3. Select the correct removable device from the drop-down menu and start copying.
4. Sit back and wait while the USB tool formats your pen drive and copies the Windows 8 files. It will make your drive bootable.
5. Once the process is complete, the USB drive can be used to boot a PC and run the Windows 8 setup process.
