After 33 years at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, 57, is due to step down from his post of CEO in the next 12 months and in his final meeting he made sure he left his colleagues with a goodbye they would never forget. Steve’s farewell speech in front of around 13,000 staff crowd, had quite a mix of energy, emotions and controversy just like the man himself, as he screamed with rolling down his face, thanking everyone in the company, ‘Soak it in, you work for the greatest company in the world”. He “A company that’s important, that’s forward-thinking, that’s innovative, that’s ethical, that hires great people and lets people lead great lives and helps people around the world realize their full potential. Microsoft is like a fourth child to me.”
He didn’t just bid a tearful goodbye with a farewell speech but sang along to his favorite song “Time of my life” from the movie Dirty Dancing, which according him made perfect fit for the occasion as it “looked back retrospectively and celebrated the future”. The man who is known for his love and dedication towards Microsoft took aim at the company’s rivals like Amazon and Google during the speech but didn’t fall short of the passionate business leader he is known to be, when he danced on stage to the Michal Jackson track ‘Wanna be startin’ something’ which he claimed to be the ‘sound of Microsoft.
